If an animal’s intestinal flora is impaired, then they will suffer from digestive problems (e.g., diarrhoea – this is how the animal’s body tries to get rid of foreign or harmful substances as quickly as possible).

Similarly, to humans, an imbalanced microbiome is often the result of stress (e.g. due to a location changes), changes in food or intolerances, as well as the intake of medications like antibiotics.

Two scientifically proven bacterial strains – Enterococcus faecium DSM 10663/NCIMB 10415 and Lactobacillus acidophilus CECT 4529 –, which are particularly suitable for stabilising the intestinal flora of cats and dogs, are combined in OMNi-BiOTiC® CAT & DOG.

These intestinal bacteria for cats and dogs are combined with high-quality MOS fibres (mannan-oligosaccharides), which are used by the beneficial bacteria in the animal’s intestines as food. These fibres are the foundation of bacterial life.

Indigestion due to eating habits

Diet-related diarrhoea is one of the most common complaints that animals suffer from. Abrupt food changes lead to diarrhoea and/or vomiting in up to 49% of cats: The food that animals eat also sustains their intestinal bacteria. If their food is suddenly changed, the important microbes lose their source of food, and the intestinal flora becomes unbalanced.
Bad eating habits and food allergies also cause digestive problems in our four-legged friends.

New home and new owner

Environmental changes can also stress animals. Location changes (e.g., when the owner moves, staying in an animal boarding kennel, etc.) or a new owner often lead to discomfort for the animal, ultimately resulting in diarrhoea. Diarrhoea is more common in puppies and kittens, especially after nursing. During this time, kittens are often separated from their mothers, put into a new home with new owners and become accustomed to normal food – many changes that can stress the soul and intestines.

Antibiotics: Clear-cutting in the intestine

Antibiotics are “miracle weapons” for both humans and animals when it comes to fighting harmful germs. Unfortunately, these drugs cannot distinguish between good and bad bacteria. As a result, every antibiotic therapy also destroys the useful “helpers” in the animal´s intestines.
The result: Pathogenic germs (e.g., clostridium perfringens, salmonella) can spread almost unhindered throughout the intestines. They then trigger diarrhoea and permanently change the intestinal flora, making it difficult for the remaining beneficial bacteria to carry out their tasks.

Feed advice

OMNi-BiOTiC^® CAT & DOG is suitable for cats and dogs of all ages.

OMNi-BiOTiC® CAT & DOG is added to food (wet or dry) or some liquid.

The feeding recommendation depends on the weight of the pet:

• Animals < 16 kg: 1 x  daily  ½ measuring spoon (= 1.25 x 10⁹ CFU)
• Animals from 16 to < 30 kg: 1 x daily 1 measuring spoon (= 2.5 x 10⁹ CFU)
• Animals from 30 to < 40 kg: 1 x daily 2 measuring spoons (= 5 x 10⁹ CFU)
• Animals over 40 kg: 1 x daily 2 – 2.5 measuring spoons (= 5 or 7.5 x 10⁹ CFU)

* 1 level scoop contains approx. 1.5 g powder with 2.5 x 10⁹ colony-forming units (CFU). ½ scoop (0.75 g powder) corresponds to the filling quantity of
1mL, 1 scoop (1.5 g powder) corresponds to the filling mark of 2mL.

Additional information

When needed, the use of OMNi-BiOTiC® CAT & DOG is recommended for at least 2-4 weeks.

In case of long-term use, half the dose can also be administered
